Boone REMC office renovations to begin in September

For more than a year, Boone REMC executives and its board of directors have been working with Garmong Construction Services to identify alternatives to better utilize our site and facilities.

The goal throughout this process has been to assure continued superior service while striving to achieve increased operating efficiencies in our building.

Beginning in September, several mini projects will be undertaken simultaneously. The projects will focus upon driving down corporate facility operating costs, protecting private customer information, enhancing external and internal security, increasing crisis response capabilities and enhancing the security of internal network hardware to meet or exceed current IT industry standards.

As construction activities commence, Boone REMC customers and visitors can expect to be temporarily rerouted to different entrances and parking areas, via temporary directional signage. No disruption of service to customers visiting the Boone REMC headquarters is expected.

The Boone REMC board of directors has approached this endeavor very cautiously to assure no rate increase is necessary to cover the cost of these building improvements.

All work is anticipated to be complete in the first quarter of 2011. Progress updates will be provided on the Boone REMC website.
