Budget Billing

The purpose of our variable budget billing program is to help customers plan their monthly energy payments. The budget billing program is available to customers that receive service under the General Service Single Phase rate (all residential services are included in this rate category). Your monthly billing statement will display the budget amount due, as well as the previous balance forward showing any debits or credits.

To enroll you must have and maintain a good payment history and your account must have a zero balance. Customers enrolled in the budget billing program are subject to the same payment due dates as regular billing accounts and must pay the full budget amount each month. If necessary, late payment fees will be assessed on the budget amount.

If the customer fails to follow the budget billing guidelines, Boone REMC reserves the right to remove the customer from the program. If a customer is removed from the program, all outstanding amounts will be due under regular payment terms.

The customer may withdraw from the budget billing program after giving fourteen days written notice to Boone REMC. Upon withdrawing from the program, all amounts owed will become due and payable to Boone REMC. Any customer choosing to withdraw from the budget billing program shall remain out of the program for twelve months before becoming eligible to re-enter the plan.
