Our EnviroWatts green power program provides customers with an option to purchase energy generated from renewable sources such as biomass (landfill gas generation), wind or solar.

When you enroll in the EnviroWatts program, you will pay $.015 (one and one-half cents) more per kilowatt-hour in addition to our standard rate.

The premium charged for EnviroWatts represents Boone REMC's cost to purchase renewable energy currently being supplied by landfill gas generation plants and wind turbines.

The more people who tell us they want EnviroWatts, the more green power we will purchase. This will in turn encourage more investment nationwide in green power generation.
