Before the equipment is installed, our technicians must check your household gounding to establish that the grounding system registers 25 ohms or less.
According to the National Electric Code, 25 ohms is the maximum ohms reading for a ground rod. Proper grounding is necessary for the equipment to work properly. If the grounding system does not register 25 ohms or less, it will be the responsibility of the customer to correct the problem.
Homeguard and Titan 65AR Units
Homeguard and Titan 65AR surge protectors are installed at your service entrance. They provide a fifteen-year warranty on electric mechanical appliances wired out of the main panel. Appliances that are wired out of the sub-feed panel, will require an individual suppressor.
For warranty purposes, all "standard equipment" and fixtures must be operated in accordance with the manufacturers specifications. Examples of "standard equipment" include washers, dryers, refrigerators, or other major home appliances that are mechanical in nature and non-electronic. Electronic appliances such as televisions, VCR's, microwaves, computers, etc., will require the plug-in devices.
The warranty is in effect if the equipment fails, and passes on transient voltage to the "standard equipment." This does not cover loose neutrals or other wiring problems. Equipment failure is indicated by the loss of a light display on the unit, at which time a claim may be filed. Warranties are provided by efi Electronics, not Boone REMC.
PowerTracker Plug-in Surge Suppression Equipment
Plug-in surge suppressors are used to provide protection from surges created from within the home and to keep surges from coming in through telephone or cable lines and other external sources.
Plug-in surge suppression equipment offers a lifetime warranty on the device and the equipment that is properly plugged into it. For warranty purposes, all "electronic equipment" must be properly connected to an efi Electronics plug or cord connection type transient voltage surge suppressor. Examples of "electronic equipment" include: televisions, VCRs, computers, microwaves, stereo equipment or other devices that incorporate electronic circuitry and components.
The warranty is in effect if the plug-in device fails and passes on transient voltage to your electronic equipment. This does not cover loose neutrals or other wiring problems. Equipment failure is indicated by the loss of a light display on the unit, at which time a claim may be filed. Warranties are provided by efi Electronics, not Boone REMC.
