Aiden Oberweiser, Anna Jones, and Fletcher Birnbaum will receive a trip to Washington D.C. from Boone REMC entering their senior year of high school.
Participants tour historic sites and monuments in and around our nation’s capital and meet with U.S. representatives and senators. They also tour Gettysburg and the Flight 93 memorial, visit Arlington National Cemetery for the changing of the guard, and enjoy a night cruise on the Potomac River. To be eligible, an applicant must be the son, daughter, or legal ward of a current Boone REMC member.
“The Youth Tour was one of the best trips and experiences I have ever been a part of,” Katherine Parsley, a Youth Tour participant from last year, said. “You really are able to see everything in D.C. and learn so much about our country’s history. I also met such great people; I still talk to my friends from Youth Tour often.”
Every year Boone REMC sends three recipients on the trip. They join other Indiana students from REMC communities in this statewide opportunity.
