Aid to Construction - Policy 420

Please be advised that our aid to construction policy (Policy 420) has changed. 

Policy 420 Appendix 1

  • A non refundable fee of $1,400 per lot in subdivisions will be charged at the time of subdivision development.
  • Multiple dwelling (apartment) units are not covered by this section of Policy 420. Please refer to Policy 420 Appendix
    5.
  • All temporary services are charged a non-refundable connection fee of $100 per temporary meter where the service is intended to become permanent service. This fee will be charged when temporary service is started by the member.
  • All new services are charged a non-refundable connection fee of $700 per service. This fee will be charged before permanent service is activated.
  • Should a member choose to locate the meter base in a location other than the Boone REMC preferred location, they will incur 100 percent of the additional cost.

Policy 420 Appendix 2

General Service as defined by the current general service rate sheet.

  • Multiple dwelling (apartment) units are not covered by this section of Policy 420. Please refer to 420 Appendix 5.
  • All temporary services are charged a non-refundable connection fee of $100 per temporary meter where the service is intended to become permanent service. This fee will be assessed when temporary service is started by the member.
  • All new services are charged a non-refundable connection fee of $700 per service. This fee will be charged before
    permanent service is activated.
  • CONTRIBUTION-IN-AID-OF-CONSTRUCTION (CIAC): A CIAC will be assessed for each new general service when the
    estimated cost of construction exceeds the 36-month average net revenue credit.


CAIC = (Estimated cost of construction) – ($1,800)*Average net revenue will be calculated by Boone REMC and updated
on an annual basis.

Policy 420 Appendix 3

This policy covers the following service types as defined by current Boone REMC Rate Sheets:

  • Small Power Service (Including Seasonal)
  • Large Power Service (Including Seasonal)
  • Large-Large Power Service

 

Fees:

  • Member will pay the full cost of all transformers dedicated specifically to the member’s service. The cost will be Boone REMC’s actual cost of the transformer.
  • All temporary services are charged a non-refundable connection fee of $100 per temporary meters where the service is intended to become permanent service. This fee will be charged when temporary service is ordered by the member.
  • All new services are charged a non-refundable connection fee of $700 per service. This fee will be charged before permanent service is activated.
  • Primary/secondary line extensions and other miscellaneous activities: Services covered under this policy are subject to fees as outlined in Policy 420 Appendix 4.

Policy 420 Appendix 4

The following activities require approval by the Boone REMC engineering staff:
I. Primary and/or secondary service extensions.
II. Primary and/or secondary service relocations (a relocation of an existing service). Relocation of metering equipment closer to the source of power requires the sale of all facilities previously owned by Boone REMC to the member for the estimated salvage value or an agreed value. Otherwise, removal of such facilities is required at the member’s cost.
III. Primary and/or secondary service upgrades.
IV. Primary and/or secondary service changes (example: changes from overhead to underground service).

Fees:
I. Repairs: The full costs of repairs to Boone REMC facilities caused by the member or other party will be paid by the member or other party at 100 percent of the actual cost.
II. CONTRIBUTION-IN-AID-OF-CONSTRUCTION (CIAC): A CIAC will be assessed for each activity when the
estimated cost of construction exceeds the 36-month average net revenue credit.

Policy 420 Appendix 5

Multiple Dwelling (apartment) Unit is defined as an individual residential living unit comprising multiple housing facilities, apartment buildings, condominiums, dormitories, etc.

Fees:

  • Developer/Member will pay the full cost of all transformers dedicated specifically to the member’s service. The cost will be Boone REMC’s actual cost of the transformer.
  • All temporary services are charged a non-refundable connection fee of $100 per temporary meter where the service is intended to become permanent service. This fee will be charged when temporary service is ordered by the member.
  • All new services are charged a non-refundable connection fee of $700 per service. This fee will be charged before permanent service is activated.
  • Primary/secondary line extensions and other miscellaneous activities:  Services covered under this policy are subject to fees as outlined in Policy 420 Appendix 4.
