Electric Vehicles Topic of Upcoming Member Meeting

As a member-owned cooperative, we want to hear from those we serve. Our members’ ideas and feedback are important to us, and that why we have a Member Advisory Committee (MAC). The mission of this group is to share thoughts and concerns with the board of directors and to learn about topics that impact the utility industry.

The cooperative holds three MAC meetings each year. All Boone REMC members are invited to attend.

Our next event is Tuesday, Feb. 21 at The Palomino, 481 S 1200 E, Zionsville, IN 46077, with a focus on electric vehicles.

  • From 6-6:30 p.m., attendees are invited to check out a Ford Lightning and a Ford Mustang Mach E and enjoy appetizers.
  • A presentation on electric vehicles (EVs) will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Arabian Room.
    • Guest speakers include Andrew Horstman, CEO of Fulton County REMC and Joan Soller, Director, Grid Innovation and Portfolio Integration at Wabash Valley Power Alliance, our wholesale power provider.
    • The presentation will cover electric vehicle basics, their impact on the grid, public charging networks, and more.
